It’s no secret that sugru is probably my favorite little gadget-y, tech-y, cool “thing”. sugru is like modeling clay when you take it from its pack. Once it’s exposed to air, it cures to a tough flexible silicone overnight using the moisture in the air.
I wrote a post professing my love for sugru a while back. There I describe some of the stuff I’ve hacked around the house. The image below shows a few things I did last week. My favorite is the thumb grip on my mouse. The pen-looking thing is actually a LASER. The button kept getting pushed in my pocket so I built a little wall around the button, the same height so the button wouldn’t get pushed. Not rocket science, but it keeps my battery from dying.
Giveaway
I’ve known Jane, the inventor of sugru, for a while, so last week she was all “Hey Pete, you guys have the best dad blog I’ve ever seen, we want to do a giveaway with you”. OK, she didn’t really say that EXACTLY, but it was close. When she asked us to do the giveaway we suggested we DOUBLE THE AWESOME and team up with Emily at merrypad.com to do a fun Father’s Day sugru giveaway.
We’re giving away 5 Smart Hacks Super Packs
5 Smart Hacks Super Packs = 5 winners. That’s right 5.
Two ways to enter:
Awww, sorry, the contest is over. BUT, feel free to go order some sugru
P.S. Not that you wouldn’t win or anything, but you should know that starting this week, Sugru is supporting local US shipping, meaning it should be a whole hack of a lot easier to get the product in the United States.
P.P.S. Why don’t you follow @projectsugru while you’re at it.
