In my last post, I took on a bathroom refresh that was intended to be a quick update, maybe a faucet…some paint…and I’m out.
But as I peeled the onion, I realized the previous owner of the home did some pretty shoddy work—I saw my one-day refresh turn into a remodel. Stripping wallpaper, patching drywall, adding a medicine cabinet, tile and a new vanity all made the list of tasks.
Which brings me to paint. Read on…
Day 6: Paint
Paint is the best part of the project. It brings all of the elements together.
And it also means you’re almost done.
But seriously, color is so expressive. It can define and embody trends.
Thinking about the rectangular tiles, the sleek black vanity and nickel finishes in the bathroom, I needed to choose from a palette of colors that reinforced this modern theme.
I looked to Valspar paints, as their Valspar Reserve is a really durable paint that has the primer built in and was created with patented paint formulas. And Valspar’s color experts have identified four color trends for 2015—all packaged into palettes containing six harmonious colors each.
I chose a modern gray (Gravity 4005-1B) from the Sixth Sense palette—colors inspired by technology.

Hydro-huh?
This means you’ll have the best color match, advanced fade resistance and improved one-coat coverage. And if your color isn’t right, they will give you another free—check out Valspar’s Color Guarantee.
So there was my bathroom remodel in five…err…six days. Not too shabby.
