Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 – Giveaway

Adobe thinks you’re awesome. And so do we. So awesome in fact, that one of you deserves a brand-spankin’ new box (ahem, perhaps…download) full of Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 greatness.

Yup. Be almost the first person on the block to apply over 50 new effects, create a slideshow with music or get all matchy-matchy with your facebook profile pic and cover photo.

Here’s what you gotta do: comment to win.

Here’s what we’d like you to do: read on and check out a few of the new PSE13 features that are dadand-approved.

Slideshow Feature Now on Mac

Since we’re ballers, bosses and brand-influencers—we walk around with our noses in the air and use macs like we just don’t care. We thought we were all high and mighty while PC users were able to create slideshows right from Elements. Now we’re joining the party.

Now PSE13 for the Mac includes slideshow creation.

  • Start with some pre-designed templates (and Adobe adds more all the time)
  • Select photos, then arrange them, even add text slides
  • You can use audio with the template or choose your own
  • Slideshow pace can sync to tempo of music
  • Save slideshow as a video or post right to Facebook

Now with Even More Effects

For some, applying filters and effects are more fun than taking the photo. The magical wizards at Adobe added more variations to the effects in PSE13, so now you have somewhere around 50 ways to enhance or completely ruin your photos. (Not really, applying poor judgement when using effects never compromises your original photo).

Here's a before shot

Here’s a shot I took at a recent car show. I liked the door lettering, and thought it would be a good candidate for a cool black and white print with  a hint of color.

Using Photoshop Elements 13, I tried the new B&W Color Pop photo effect. In just a click or two I was able to turn the photo black and white, then retain just the red color portion of the photo. This can make your favorite part of the photo really stand out. I also removed the ugly paper form the window using the clone stamp tool and the spot healing brush. This will look pretty good on the wall of my shop.

Crop Tool

We learned that the number one feature used…of all time…in the history of the world…forever and ever…in Photoshop Elements is the crop tool. We showed the crop tool who’s boss in the past, but now they made it all smart—it “suggests” how to best crop your photo.

Yup. The Adobe digital alchemists got all programmy and integrated the rules of cropping right into the tool. It will search for a face or a horizon in the shot and suggest the best crop.

And Bam. You went from momtographer to prosumer just like that.

Facebook Profile Template

You already know what this is and you want it. Thanks to Adobe, everyone is going to do it now. Thanks Adobe. Thanks.

Seriously. That trick that guy did where his profile pic aligned perfectly with the cover photo. Where he looked like atlas but he was carrying the moon. And everyone commented on it and liked it. Yeah, like that.

It’s not conjury. It’s PSE13.

There’s more.

There is more. A lot more. So I’ll save for a future post. But now you’re like “I’m ready to enter.” So check the details below and comment to enter to win.
